Colby Rodeo Opens Spring Season at KSU Rodeo
The Colby Community College rodeo team returns to action this week to open the spring season at the Kansas State University Rodeo in Manhattan, KS.

The four-day event begins with performances Thursday (Feb. 19) night, then slack rounds Friday (Feb. 20) and continues through Saturday's (Feb. 21) performances, with the Short Go championship round set for Sunday (Feb. 22) at 1 p.m. The rodeo will feature morning slack sessions and nightly performances, with 13 Colby entries across a full slate of men's and women's events.
Colby opens competition Friday morning in breakaway roping, where Mara Kats, Alaura Crockett, and Sadee Adamson will represent the Trojans. Friday night's performance begins at 7 p.m., featuring Kade Homm in tie-down roping and Dali Reser in breakaway roping to close out the day's events.
Action continues Saturday morning with barrel racing entries from Emma Krase, Kats, and Crockett. Later in the day, Lakoddah Downes will compete in steer wrestling during the afternoon session beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday night, Brooklynn Hughes is set to compete in both goat tying and barrel racing, while Downes and Homm will team up in team roping.
The Trojans will look to build momentum and set the tone for the spring season as they open the second half of their schedule at the K-State Rodeo.
