The Trojans Cross-Country Programs start strong at the JK Gold Classic
Wichita, Kan. - The Colby Cross-Country teams opened the 2024 campaign on Saturday, September 7th at the JK Gold Classic.
Wichita, Kan. - The Colby Cross-Country teams opened the 2024 campaign on Saturday, September 7th at the JK Gold Classic. Rosemary Arthur led the way for the women while the men were fifth behind the efforts of Sibonelo Khumalo.
Arthur completed the 5,000-meter course at 18:55 and finished 26th overall in the highly competitive field. Nonhlanhla Mabuza was behind her with a final time of 19:13 to secure the 32nd place overall. Snegugu Mkhize finished her college cross country debut placing 109.
Khumalo was the men's meet champion finishing the 6000 meter course with a time of 17:54. Felix Uwimana was just behind him in 3rd at 18:16. Kenan Delestre placed 28th clocking 19:07. At the same time, Matheo Guimene was 32nd at 19:36 and rounding out the team score was Dakotah Kotchuck who placed 74th at 22:12.
Colby Cross-Country is back in action at the Greeno/Dirksen Invitation, Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday, September 21st.
