The Colby Community College women's wrestling program is set to make history this week as the Trojans compete in their first-ever dual and tournament under head coach Michael Ruiz.
Colby will take the mat this evening (Oct. 29) at the SCC Social, facing Southeast Community College and Midland College in duals scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The event marks the official beginning of competition for the new program, which has been building momentum since last spring.
Following the duals, the Trojans will turn their attention to the Falcon Open in Wichita on Saturday (Nov. 1), where several athletes are set to represent Colby in tournament competition. The Trojans will expand their lineup for this weekend's tournament with the additions of Jazrine Nieto and Ayvah Reynoso, joining Atavia Cain, Audrie Felkins, Isabella Garrity, Destiny Gonzalez, Emma Hahn, Julia Nunez, Cristina Palacio Martinez, Emma Parker, and Makalynn Spresser as Colby continues its inaugural season of competition.
The Trojans' debut marks another step forward for Colby Community College Athletics, continuing the department's commitment to growing opportunities for student-athletes. Fans can follow results and updates on the Colby Trojans Athletics social media pages throughout the rest of the week.
