Trojans Hold No. 13 Spot in Recent NJCAA Poll
The Colby Community College volleyball team remains firmly in the national conversation, holding steady at No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings released Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Colby Community College volleyball team remains firmly in the national conversation, holding steady at No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings released Monday (Oct. 27).
The Trojans (21–6, 13–2 KJCCC) stayed in the same spot after splitting a pair of key conference matchups last week. Colby delivered a dominant sweep over Butler Community College on Sophomore Night before falling just short in a five-set battle on the road at No. 6 Barton.
Despite the split, the Trojans continue to showcase one of the nation's most balanced and efficient offenses. Colby leads the NJCAA in assists per set (12.66) and ranks second nationally in kills per set (13.51), while also sitting tied for fifth in service aces per set (2.39) and 12th in hitting percentage (.240).
Sophomore setter Amanda Caputi remains the engine of the offense, leading the nation with 11.26 assists per set, while outside hitter Karlotta Kattai continues to pace the attack, ranking second nationally and first in the KJCCC with 3.98 kills per set.
With one regular-season match remaining, the Trojans will look to close out strong before turning their attention to postseason play. Colby travels to Pratt Community College on Wednesday (Oct. 29) to wrap up the regular season, with Region VI Tournament action set to begin next week.
