Trojans Hold Strong at No. 13 After Road Split
The Colby Community College volleyball team remains firmly in the national conversation, checking in at No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings released Monday
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Colby Community College volleyball team remains firmly in the national conversation, checking in at No. 13 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings released Monday (Oct. 20).
After returning to the top-10 last week, the Trojans (20–5, 12–1 KJCCC) dropped four spots following a split weekend on the road. Colby fell in a hard-fought match to Seward County in Liberal before rebounding with a strong four-set win at Dodge City.
Despite the slight dip in the polls, the Trojans continue to showcase one of the nation's most balanced and dynamic attacks. Colby still ranks among the NJCAA's elite statistically, sitting No. 1 nationally in kills per set (13.58) and assists per set (12.71), while also ranking 12th in hitting percentage (.240) and eighth in service aces per set (2.39).
Sophomore setter Amanda Caputi remains the engine of the offense, leading the nation with 11.33 assists per set, while outside hitter Karlotta Kattai continues to dominate at the net, ranking fourth nationally and first in the KJCCC with 4.09 kills per set.
With three regular-season matches remaining, Colby will look to regain momentum and solidify its postseason positioning. The Trojans will begin that push at home on Wednesday (Oct. 22), hosting Butler in their final home match of the season.
