Trojans Volleyball Back in the Top 10 in Latest NJCAA Poll
The Colby Community College volleyball team is back among the nation’s elite as they climb to No. 9 in the nation.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Colby Community College volleyball team is back among the nation's top-10.
After several weeks just outside the top-10, the Trojans have surged back into the mix, climbing to No. 9 in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings. It marks Colby's first top-10 appearance since Sept. 14, when the team held the No. 7 spot.
The rise comes as no surprise, the Trojans (19–4, 11–0 KJCCC) have been nearly untouchable in conference play, extending their unbeaten KJCCC streak to 11 matches following sweeps of Cloud County and Hutchinson last week. The 11-match tear stands as the longest active winning streak in the conference, keeping Colby in control of first place.
Offensively, the Trojans continue to light up the stat sheet. Colby ranks No. 1 nationally in both kills per set (13.74) and assists per set (12.84), while also sitting 12th in hitting percentage (.244) and ninth in service aces per set (2.43).
Leading the charge is sophomore setter Amanda Caputi, who remains the nation's top distributor with 11.50 assists per set, orchestrating one of the most dynamic offenses in the country. Outside hitter Karlotta Kattai has also been relentless at the net, ranking fourth nationally and first in the conference with 4.14 kills per set and serving as a constant scoring threat in every rotation.
With momentum building and a top-10 ranking restored, Colby looks every bit like a team primed for a postseason run.
