Colby Community College setter Amanda Caputi has been recognized as the AVCA Two-Year College Player of the Week, following an outstanding performance that propelled the Trojans to two key conference victories.
Caputi was instrumental in guiding Colby to a five-set upset over No. 8 Barton on Wednesday (Sept. 24) and a four-set win against Seward County on Saturday (Sept. 27). Over the course of two matches and nine sets, the sophomore captain totaled 105 assists (11.67 per set), 22 digs (2.44 per set), and 11 blocks (1.22 per set).
Her performance against Barton was especially memorable, as she recorded a career-high 62 assists, including the 2,000th assist of her career, cementing her place as one of the premier setters in NJCAA Division I volleyball.
The Trojans enter this week ranked No. 11 nationally, and Caputi's efforts have helped keep Colby at the top of the KJCCC standings.
This is yet another accolade for Caputi, who has gotten the KJCCC Setter of the Week five out of six times this season. She continues to etch her name into Trojans volleyball history while leading her team through a strong conference slate.
