Dridi, Caputi Earn KJCCC Division I Volleyball Weekly Honors
Two Colby Community College volleyball standouts have been recognized by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
COLBY, Kan. – Two Colby Community College volleyball standouts have been recognized by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Freshman outside hitter Ella Dridi was named Player of the Week, while sophomore setter Amanda Caputi earned Setter of the Week honors for their performances in a pair of key conference victories.
Dridi delivered a breakout week, highlighted by a 23-kill performance in a five-set win over No. 8 Barton. She hit .315 in the match while adding 17 digs and three service aces against the defending Region VI champions. The freshman followed with 13 kills on a .360 clip, seven digs, and three more aces in a victory over Seward County. For the week, Dridi averaged 4.00 kills per set on a .329 hitting percentage, totaling 42.5 points (4.7 per set).
Caputi guided the Trojans' attack with precision, totaling 105 assists across nine sets (11.67 per set). She reached a career milestone in the win over Barton, dishing out her 2,000th career assist as part of a 62-assist, 13-dig, seven-block performance. The sophomore followed with 43 assists, nine digs, and four blocks in the sweep of Seward County. Her all-around play also included 22 digs (2.44 per set) and 11 blocks (1.22 per set) for the week. Caputi's recognition marks the fifth time this fall she has earned the KJCCC Setter of the Week award.
The No. 12 Trojans improved to 8-0 in KJCCC play with a win over Pratt on Sunday (Sept. 29). The team will now turn their focus to a road matchup at Garden City, set for Saturday (Oct. 4) at 4 p.m.
