No. 3 Volleyball Earn KJCCC Weekly Honors and Tournament Recognition
Following a flawless opening weekend at the Midland College Classic, the No. 3 volleyball team continues to collect accolades. Sophomores Karlotta Kattai and Amanda Caputi were recognized with Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Volleyball Player of the Week honors, while three Trojans also landed on the Midland Classic All-Tournament teams.
COLBY, Kan. — Following a flawless opening weekend at the Midland College Classic, the No. 3 volleyball team continues to collect accolades. Sophomores Karlotta Kattai and Amanda Caputi were recognized with Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division I Volleyball Player of the Week honors, while three Trojans also landed on the Midland Classic All-Tournament teams.
Kattai was named KJCCC Division I Player of the Week after delivering a dominant all-around performance. She posted 74 kills and averaged 6.17 kills per set, leading both the conference and all of NJCAA Division I Volleyball in the category. She added 28 digs, four assisted blocks, and eight service aces to her stat line, totaling 84 points (7.0 per set) while hitting .336 on the weekend. Her outstanding play also earned her Midland Classic Most Valuable Player and Offensive All-Tournament Team honors.
Caputi earned KJCCC Setter of the Week by orchestrating Colby's balanced attack with 141 assists in 12 sets, averaging nearly 12 per set. She also chipped in seven kills, 24 digs, three assisted blocks, and eight service aces to help keep the Trojans' offense in rhythm.
Joining them in tournament recognition was Anita Ferri, who was named to the Midland Classic All-Defensive Team for her steady play in the back row. Ella Dridi was also nominated for KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week after a strong opening weekend performance, further highlighting the Trojans' depth and defensive strength.
The Trojans return to action this weekend (Aug. 29-30) looking to build on their perfect 4-0 start and continue their climb up the national rankings.
