Long road stretch ends in win

Wednesday night the Colby Community College Trojans completed a string of four straight road games with a win at Independence in three sets, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-16. The Trojans began the stretch with their lone loss on the season coming at Seward County, then sweeping Dodge City and Garden City.

Alex Merle and Julie Archer each had 13 kills, while Karissa Winkel and Nina Gorgijevska had 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Kyndal Bacon contributed 36 assists.

The 18th-ranked Trojans, now 18-1 overall and 9-1 in the KJCCC, return to the Community Building Saturday for a 2 p.m. start with Pratt (10-15, 3-6). Admission to the game is a non-perishable food item for the CCC Food Pantry.
