Conference win puts volleyball streak at 6

The Colby Community College Lady Trojans volleyball team stretched their season-opening win streak to six after sweeping Independence Saturday at the Community Building, 25-12, 25-14 and 25-14.

Alex Merle and Julie Archer added 10 kills each and Kyndal Bacon contributed 29 assists. Week one conference player of the week Nina Gorgijevska notched 17 digs and three service aces.

Colby takes an overall 6-0 record and 2-0 record in the Jayhawk Conference on the road to Pratt (3-8, 0-2) Wednesday. The Lady Trojans will compete in a non-conference tournament Friday and Saturday in Irving, Texas.
