The Colby Community College Lady Trojans volleyball team picked up their first conference road win with a three-game sweep of Barton County Monday night, 25-22, 25-10 and 25-18. The victory marked Colby's fifth consecutive in Great Bend and ninth straight series win.
"It was good to see we were able to enter a tough environment and get our first conference road win tonight," said CCC head coach Carey Jones. "I saw a lot of effort and discipline from our young team but we know we still have a lot of things to work on this year to accomplish our goals."
Anica Jestratijevic led Colby with 11 kills while Brennah Gaston just missed a double-double with eight kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Melanie Loiseau added to her nation-leading assist total with another 34. She also posted eight digs and four kills.
Colby (2-0, 9-1) hosts Butler Community College (1-0, 4-1) Wednesday night beginningat 6:30 p.m.
