The Colby Trojans women's track and field team split competition this weekend, sending athletes to both the Jo Meaker Classic and the Grizzly Gold Invite, where the Trojans turned in a number of strong performances, national marks, and a school record.
At West Texas, Beatrice Boakye led the way with a standout weekend on the track. She placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 23.62, a personal best that now ranks seventh in the nation. Boakye followed that up with an even bigger performance in the 400 meters, taking third place in 54.51 while setting a new school record and hitting another NJCAA qualifying mark.
She has already broken this record two times this season, this time around beating her record for the third time this season.
Faith Vine also made her presence felt in the sprints, finishing 15th in the 100 meters with a time of 11.84, a mark that currently ranks 19th nationally. She later added a 36th-place finish in the 200 meters (25.05), moving into ninth place in school history. Randieunna Jeffery contributed in multiple events, placing 29th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.86, which ranks sixth in program history, and adding a 10th-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:11.62).
At the Grizzly Gold Invite, distance standout Nadine McIntyre turned in one of the top performances of the weekend, finishing second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:03.93. That mark currently ranks third in the nation and also places her third in school history.
Across both meets, the Trojans showcased continued progress, highlighted by multiple NJCAA qualifying marks, significant climbs in the national rankings, and Boakye's record-breaking performance. The team now looks ahead to The ESU Relays and Coyote Classic both hosted in Kansas.
