Boakye Shatters 400m School Record, Posts No. 2 NJCAA Time at Ichabod Invitational

TOPEKA, Kan. - Competing as the lone representative for the Colby Trojans Track & Field team on Saturday (Feb. 14), Beatrice Boakye delivered a historic performance at the Ichabod Invitational, breaking a school record and posting one of the top times in the NJCAA this season.
Boakye set a new school record in the 400-meter dash, finishing second overall with a time of 55.02 seconds. She shattered the previous program record by nearly three seconds, a significant margin that highlights the magnitude of her performance. The mark currently ranks second in the NJCAA, establishing Boakye as one of the premier quarter-milers in the nation.
Her record-setting run adds to an already remarkable season across multiple sprint events. In the 200-meter dash, Boakye holds the fourth-fastest time in program history after clocking 25.06 seconds, a mark that also ranks second nationally this season. She has also made her mark in the 60-meter dash, where her personal-best time of 7.55 seconds from last season ranks third all-time in school history. Her top time of 7.63 seconds this season currently stands as the 20th-best mark in the NJCAA.
With Boakye's record-breaking performance providing momentum, the Trojans now prepare for postseason competition as they travel to Pittsburg, KS for the regional meet this weekend (Feb. 20-21).
