Colby closed its regular season on a high note, defeating No. 19 Fort Hays Tech Northwest 31–17 on Sophomore Night in its final conference dual. The victory marked the program's first ranked dual win under head coach Joseph Cornejo and helped the Trojans finish conference action with a 3–4 record.
Cowley College claimed the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference regular season title with a perfect 7–0 conference dual record, while Colby secured a fifth-place finish in the league standings.
The district tournament on Saturday is at Pratt Community College's Dennis Lesh Sports Arena, with action beginning at 9 a.m. The event will feature all eight Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference programs along with NJCAA Region 2 schools Carl Albert State College, Murray State College, Northeast Oklahoma A&M, and Northern Oklahoma College–Tonkawa.
Wrestlers will compete across all 10 weight classes, with top finishers in each division earning qualification to the NJCAA Wrestling Championships. The tournament provides the Trojans an opportunity to secure national bids following a regular season highlighted by steady improvement and a ranked dual victory.
