Lady Trojans drop first game of 2017
Colby loses 65-58 to Neosho
The Colby Community College women's basketball team came up short in a back-and-forth battle with the Neosho County Community College Panthers Wednesday at the Colby Community Building, 65-58.
Despite shooting just 24 percent and committing 26 turnovers, Neosho grabbed 80 rebounds. The Lady Trojans held a 56-55 lead with 2:25 remaining in the game, but only scored a late field goal the rest of the way.
Colby's Journey Jones led all scorers with 22 points.
The Lady Trojans fall to 1-9 in the Jayhawk Conference and 3-11 overall. They are on the road Saturday in Liberal for a 6 p.m. start against sixth ranked Seward County Community College (14-0, 10-0).
