Colby Community College has announced updated qualifications and details for its open Head Rodeo Coach position, continuing its search for a student-focused leader to guide the Trojans rodeo program.
The full-time position will oversee all aspects of the college's rodeo program, including recruiting and developing student-athletes, coaching competitors at the regional and national levels, coordinating team travel, managing practice livestock and facilities, assisting with operations at the Colby Community College Farm, and hosting the annual Colby Community College Rodeo. The role also emphasizes academic success and community involvement among student-athletes.
The Head Rodeo Coach position is a 12-month, non-faculty appointment requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, including evening, weekend, and travel commitments.
Updated Qualifications

Associate degree required; bachelor's degree or higher preferred

Experience competing in rodeo required

Previous coaching or leadership experience preferred

Strong communication, recruiting, and organizational skills
Candidates hired with an associate degree will be expected to pursue a bachelor's degree within three years of employment, with completion required for continued employment.
