Colby Community College cross country is back on the road Friday, Sept. 26, competing in the Gans Creek Classic at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. The men's open 8K begins at 11:15 a.m., followed by the women's 6K at noon.
The No. 16-ranked Colby men's team will field a full lineup against a deep and competitive field. Sophomore Kenan Delestre, who placed fifth earlier this month at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational, looks to once again set the tone up front. He'll be joined by sophomore transfer Japhet Kiprono, who impressed with a sixth-place finish in his Trojan debut, along with a strong supporting group that includes Thomas Calas, Alexandre Leroy and Enoha Reizabal-Bella. Together, the Trojans will look to build on their early-season momentum while testing themselves against top-tier competition.
The Colby women's squad will also showcase a complete lineup of seven runners. Sophomore Nadine McIntyre, the Trojans' top finisher at the J.K. Gold Classic and runner-up at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational, anchors the team once again. She'll be joined by freshman Blanca Gallegos along with Laina Larson, Shirley Cotant, Antoinette Brungardt, Kaylen McAtee, and Adriana Phillips—a group that continues to grow stronger each week.
With depth, talent, and key frontrunners on both sides, Friday's meet will provide a valuable midseason test against NCAA Division I programs and nationally ranked opponents. The Trojans are aiming to sharpen their form with regionals just a month away and nationals on the horizon.
