Men's Cross Country Ranks 19th to Begin Season
The Colby Community College men’s cross country team will open the 2025 season ranked No. 19 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I National Coaches’ Poll.
NEW ORLEONS, La. – The Colby Community College men's cross country team will open the 2025 season ranked No. 19 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I National Coaches' Poll.
The Trojans, led by first-year head coach Mathew Scott, return two key runners from last season's Region VI Championship squad. Sophomore Kenan Delestre (La Poueze, France) placed 29th at regionals with a time of 26:30, while Dakotah Kotchuck (Loveland, Colo.) recorded a personal-best 28:23 to finish 51st.
Colby will face a strong conference schedule as the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) continues to be one of the most competitive in the nation. Butler CC enters the season ranked No. 2, Hutchinson CC is No. 4, and Garden City CC holds the No. 12 spot. With the Trojans at No. 19, Colby stands fourth among KJCCC programs in the national poll.
The team is set to begin their 2025 season at the JK Gold Classic set for Saturday (Sept. 6).
