Cross Country Has New Leader
Tim Sevis hired as running coach
Tim Servis began this month as the Colby Community College men's and women's head cross-country coach and assistant track and field coach. He replaced Brady Johnson, who resigned in June.
Servis came to CCC after coaching the men's and women's cross country teams at Division II Southern Arkansas University since 2010.
"I'm thankful to be given the opportunity to lead the Trojan cross country program and assist Coach Fletcher with track and field," said Servis. "It is an honor to be part of one of the most competitive junior college programs in the nation, and I am excited to carry the torch into the next era."
Although Servis takes over a Trojans program that claimed the men's and women's Region VI and KJCCC titles in 2023, he knows how to build programs. At Southern Arkansas, he was hired as a cross country coach but would also resurrect outdoor track and field in 2014. In 2022, he started the indoor track and field programs.
"We are thrilled to have Tim Servis lead cross country at Colby Community College," said Athletic Director Kenny Hernandez. "Tim brings years of leadership experience, and we are excited to see where he will take the program."
Before his role at SAU, Servis was a student assistant coach (2008-2010) while attending graduate school at the University of Central Arkansas. He was also the head cross-country coach (2005-2007) at Lyon College in Arkansas.
The Camden, Maine, native holds a bachelor's degree from the University of the Ozarks and a master's from the University of Central Arkansas. In his free time, he enjoys walking trails with his 9-year-old dog, Luna.
