Kipngetich named cross country runner of the week

Second time for the Colorado Springs sophomore

Colby Community College sophomore runner Emmanuel Kipngetich has been named the week five Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference male Runner of the Week after his Sept. 29 performance at the Rim Rock Classic hosted by the University of Kansas.

Kipngetich's time was 24:54 for the 8,000-meter race as he led the No. 6 Trojans to a sixth-place team finish. From Colorado Springs, Kipngetich also earned the honor in 2017 as a freshman.

The men's and women's cross country squads are preparing for Fort Hays State's Sand Plum Invitational Saturday before heading to the NJCAA Region VI Championship Oct. 27 in Arkansas City.
