COLBY, Kan. – A standout performance on a big stage has earned Colby Community College's Kenan Delestre Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Competing at the Emporia State University Midwest Classic, Delestre delivered a breakthrough race in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing third with a time of 9:39.11. The mark not only secured a podium finish in a competitive field, but also met the NJCAA national qualifying standard, further cementing his place among the top distance runners in the country.
Delestre's time currently ranks as the third-fastest in the NJCAA this season, highlighting the significance of his performance and positioning him as a strong contender heading into the heart of the outdoor campaign. His effort was one of the most impactful of the meet for the Trojans and continues to build momentum for both himself and the program moving forward.
