Representing Colby as the team's sole competitor, Kairi stood out among a deep field of riders from across the region.
The Zone Championships are the final step for IHSA hunter seat riders and teams on their journey to Nationals. Each region sends two individual riders, one team, and their Regional High-Point Rider to compete, with the top two individuals per class and top two teams advancing to the national stage. While Kairi narrowly missed qualifying for Nationals, her top-ten finish reflects both her talent and the competitive strength of the Colby Equestrian program.
Kairi's performance at Zone 8 not only highlights her personal achievements but also signals the growing presence of Colby riders in high-level IHSA competition. Competing on a prestigious stage like Stanford, she represented the program with poise and determination, gaining valuable experience that will serve as a foundation for future competitions and continued success in the sport.
