Colby Equestrian Wraps Up Hunt Seat Season, Quinn Claims Regional Title

FOUNTAIN, Colo. – The Colby Trojans equestrian team wrapped up its regular season with a strong showing at Saturday's (March 14) final hunt seat show, followed by an impressive performance at the Hunt Seat Regionals hosted by the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Sunday (March 15).

At the season finale, the Trojans earned top finishes in several classes. In Limit Equitation Over Fences, Kathryn Rush placed fifth. On the flat, Kairi Quinn led the way with a first-place finish in Limit Equitation, while Sidney Morgan and Rush both earned sixth-place finishes. The Novice Equitation on the Flat division featured Lauren Bowes capturing first place, Kaytelin Shinkle taking fourth, and Paige Freidline placing fifth. Pre-Novice Equitation saw Savanah Mertens claim first, Serena Muser finish second, and Leigha Fellhoelter place fourth.

Sunday's Regionals brought an even higher level of competition, and Colby riders rose to the occasion. Both Sidney Morgan and Kairi Quinn qualified to compete in Novice Equitation on the Flat. In a large and competitive field, Quinn delivered a flawless performance to capture the regional championship, while Morgan earned an impressive fifth-place finish.

Quinn's regional victory secures her spot at the Zone Finals, hosted by Stanford University on March 29. The Trojans' strong weekend performances reflect the dedication and talent of the riders and coaching staff, and set an exciting stage as they look ahead to postseason competition.
