Colby Equestrian Earns Reserve High Point Team Honors on Day 1 in Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Colby Trojans had their second show of the spring season this weekend (Feb. 7-8) at the Lincoln Western Show, earning Reserve High Point Team honors in day one with impressive performances across all divisions.

The Trojans claimed seven first-place finishes over the two-day event, highlighted by standout rides from Kairi Quinn, who took first in Open Horsemanship on Day 1 and improved to second in Reining on Day 2. Paige Freidline dominated Level I Horsemanship with back-to-back first-place finishes, while Rookie B Horsemanship saw Kaytelin Shinkle and Kathryn Rush take first on Day 1 and Leigha Fellhoelter, Rush, and Makenzie Meinhardt secure top-three finishes on Day 2.

Other notable performances included Lauren Bowles moving up to third in Rookie A Horsemanship on Day 2, Savannah Mertens taking second in Level I Horsemanship, and Joslyn Kimble and Hailey Bolyard earning multiple top-six finishes in the Beginner division. With consistent podium placements across divisions, the Trojans showcased both depth and talent throughout the weekend.

Colby's riders proved their readiness for the spring season, combining strong individual performances with overall team excellence. With multiple victories, podium finishes, and a strong team showing, the Trojans leave Lincoln with momentum and confidence as they look ahead to the next competition.
