COLBY, Kan. - Colby Trojan's first baseman Callum Thomson has been named the KJCCC Gold Glove Award winner at first base, recognizing him as the top defensive player at his position across both the East and West Divisions of the conference.
Thomson was a defensive anchor for the Trojans throughout the season, appearing in all 53 games at first base. He showcased remarkable consistency and reliability, committing just one error all season while handling 341 total chances. The sophomore recorded 315 putouts and 25 assists while posting an outstanding .997 fielding percentage. His steady glove helped the Trojans turn 37 double plays and provided a dependable presence on the infield throughout the year.
The Gold Glove honor recognizes Thomson's exceptional defensive performance and his ability to consistently make routine plays while excelling in high-pressure situations made him one of the premier defensive first basemen in the conference.
The freshman established himself as one of the most sure-handed defenders in the KJCCC and earned well-deserved recognition as the conference's top first baseman defensively.
